Use

The agreement

By downloading, installing or using LapSmith you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the apps or services. These terms are between you and LapSmith; the app stores that distribute LapSmith are not parties to them, and are not responsible for the apps or for support.

Accounts

A LapSmith account is free. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity on your account. You can delete your account and its data at any time from within the app, and we handle personal data as described in the privacy policy.

LapSmith Pro

LapSmith Pro is an optional subscription that unlocks cloud session sync, live sharing, the Coach and the desktop app. Recording, lap timing and local analysis do not require it. Data you have already synced stays readable and downloadable if a subscription ends.

Subscriptions are billed through the app store you bought them from, at the price and billing period shown on the purchase screen before you confirm. They renew automatically for the same period until cancelled, and the renewal is charged to your store account.

On the App Store, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends, in your Apple ID subscription settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the period you have paid for runs to its end.

On Google Play, cancel at any time in your Google Play subscription settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the current billing period.

Refunds are handled by the app store that took the payment, under that store's policy. Prices may change; we will tell you before a change affects a renewal, and you can cancel if you do not want to continue.

Acceptable use

Use LapSmith lawfully and for its intended purpose. Do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the services; do not upload content you have no right to share; and do not use LapSmith to harass others or to misrepresent someone else's driving as your own. We may suspend an account that does.

Your data and content

Your sessions, videos, profile and other content remain yours. You grant LapSmith only the permission needed to run the service you asked for: storing and syncing your data, and showing what you choose to share to the people you choose to share it with. Community features such as leaderboards and live sharing are opt-in.

Driving and safety

LapSmith is a recording and analysis tool for track use. You are responsible for driving safely and lawfully, for complying with the rules of the circuit or event you are attending, and for mounting and operating devices safely. Do not interact with the app while driving on public roads.

Warranties and liability

LapSmith is provided as-is. Telemetry, lap times and derived measurements depend on hardware, signal quality and conditions, so they are provided for guidance and are not certified timing. To the extent the law allows, LapSmith is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Nothing here affects consumer rights you have in your country.

Changes

We may update these terms as LapSmith changes. The updated version is posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and continuing to use LapSmith after that means accepting it.
